We have been commissioned by one of our regular book publishing clients to design, produce and 'package' a 96-page book entitled "STAY FIT AND YOUNG". It is aimed at the more mature woman and will comprise around 40 different exercises of a double-page spread each, ranging from simple stretching and aerobic exercises to yoga, pilates and Swiss ball etc. We estimate using 4 images per spread to illustrate each exercise, making a total of some 160 individual shots to be used in the book, although we will need to have a larger number of pictures from which to select the final shots for reproduction.
Our client has supplied an example of a typical spread to indicate the kind of look that is required and I've attached it to this message (sorry it's so low-res). The publisher is well known for creating books of the highest quality at top-value prices, which are often sold in supermarkets and chain stores.
We are looking for an experienced studio photographer who can arrange a photoshoot of 2-3 days in a studio set (or suitable 'gym' location) ideally with attractive wooden floor and white walls - just simple, uncluttered and stylish.
We will need 3-4 attractive, athletic female models of around 40+ years of age and of different ethnicity (maybe 2 white, 1 black and 1 Asian model) - they will need to be able to demonstrate the poses quickly and effortlessly, so models who regularly work-out or exercise will be preferred. Initially we will need to supply model cards or shots of the potential models to show to our client to allow them to agree the final selection for photography.
Naturally, we are looking for a very competitive price which should include all photography, digital captures and any necessary colour adjustment/simple retouching, model fees, expenses and suitable studio set/location. We will attend the photoshoot to art direct and to assist generally and would expect to be able to work quickly and efficiently through a pre-agreed shooting list.
The photography will need to take place early in 2010, once model selection, studio/location, shooting list and budget have been agreed.
Full copyright for the images will need to be assigned to the publisher, as will model release forms.
If this project is of interest please get in touch with me (Paul Turner) or Sue Pressley at Stonecastle Graphics to discuss in more detail, or to submit a quote.
