MeejaHub

The Hub for Media, Creative Professionals and Artists in Tunbridge Wells.

I'm working on a project for a client, and I'm trying to think of an image which just won't come. If anyone has any ideas they will be very gratefully received. (No fee I'm afraid.)
I'm trying to think of a word that will be used as a metaphor for a publication that is trusted, influential, interesting, well written, informative, basically essential reading for it's readers.
The best I've come up with so far is "The lighthouse medium", or "The lighthouse effect". But it's not quite right. A lighthouse sheds light and stands out but people steer clear of them! Not exactly the message that I want to convey. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
Secondly, I'm just about to publish issue 2 of my tech/digital newsletter. If anyone who isn't already on the mailing list would like to receive a copy, just let me know. (I will need your email address). Thanks.

What is the subject matter Steve? Is is online/offline/both? Daily publication or monthly etc?

These might help with peoples suggestions :)
It's both Jez, online and offline, and weekly.
Thanks
Steve
Hi Steve, I'm a Creative and have only just registered with Meejahub this afternoon. While exploring the site, i came across you interesting problem. Concentrating on the those descriptions you've listed (trusted, influential ect) my instant thought were to family members or someone in our lives that could fit those descriptions. Putting my thoughts on paper, Mother, Father, brother or sister, then 'Uncle' popped up. Everyone has a favorite uncle, trusting, influential and cool. Graphically you have some fun with it.

Sorry for rambling, this may be useful or not, but good luck with it all.

James.
Hi, Steve. I would like to receive your newsletter - samuel@lanternmediafestival.com

As for your main problem, Beacon is the only thing I have to offer. Sorry.
Hi, I'm new to Meejahub and I guess it's too late but something like 'Guiding Light' springs to mind from the values you have suggested.

best,
Nick
Thanks Nick. We went with a variation on the lighthouse them in the end.
Cheers
Steve
Steve just signed back in. I would like to receive your newsletter - psbdesign@me.com Thanks

I would have said PULSAR. + a tagline. E.g. Pulsar - Reliable guidance for the literary world.PULSAR has the implication of Pulse, has an association with the heavens/universe, is used for accurate timing and measurement, etc.

I'm sure I'm late on this, but having read it, I thought I'd contribute anyway

I'd like to be on your mailing list as well please. johntapsfield@mac.com
