Interesting meeting last night, the man from the council voiced some fine aspirations for helping local business and invited suggestions.

I know some of you like me see this talk as a massive change of direction for TWBC which in years passed has treated small business if not with hostility then at the very least indifference.

This I believe is a welcome change and we should take our man at his word and work with him to make it very clear what help would be of most use.

How about we put forward some ideas to him, I would suggest we make our thoughts as public as possible so as to stimulate more discussion, and invite feedback.

To Kick off:

Funding and support for local Networking Groups
Acknowledge that West Kent and the A21 corridor is geographically isolated from the activities in the rest of Kent and we should first look to support groups and initiatives in the immediate area rather than rely on the rest of Kent to cater for our needs.
Help and support for waste management and recycling for smaller businesses.
Invite Local business to a series of open meetings to engage and invite ideas on how TWBC can help, and outline what existing help is available and what if anything is being done.
